Steven's story

Steven is a 28-year-old maried man who lives in the town of Nansana in the Kampala region of Uganda. For the past 4 years, Steven managed his retail shop. To help expand his business, Steven has requested a loan of 3,000,000 UGX from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy sugar, bread, soap, salt, and detergent, and will help Steven to generate greater profits and expand his business. Steven hopes that in the future he will be able to meet customer demands. Steven is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Steven who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for micro-loans.
