Marisela's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to purchase new rugs and tables, and fix her fence and bathroom.
After Marisela was laid off, she had difficulty finding work that was flexible enough to allow her to raise her own children. She then had the idea to start her own home-based daycare business. She has always loved children and she knew this would be a way to help her husband with the household expenses. She received her training through the Chicano Federation Daycare Program. Currently, she has a very successful daycare and she is hoping one day to be able to care for 14 children, which is the most children you can care for in a home. Marisela has been now in the daycare industry for more than 10 years, but she is in need of some upgrades. She will use her Kiva loan to purchase new rugs and tables, and fix her fence and bathroom. With the help of Kiva lenders, she will be able to upgrade her daycare and care for more children, so that she can provide more income for her family.
