A loan helped to buy drums.

Robles Group's story

The “ROBLES” communal bank is staring their seventh loan cycle with Pro Mujer, as part of the Panamericana regional branch, It is made up of eight members, lead by a board of directors with Juana as Secretary. The businesses that the members of the communal bank run are varied. Amongst them are: the sale of food, selling vitamin juices, selling clothing, selling blankets, a neighborhood store, perfume sales and an orchestra service.

The loan they are taking will benefit all these micro entrepreneurs, Juana amongst them. She states that she joined Pro Mujer eight years ago on the invitation of a friend who is a member of the institution. She currently has a orchestra service business. She says that she learned this business five years ago from a friend who helped her start the business.

The loan that she is now getting will be used to buy drums which she will acquire at the wholesale vendors of the city of La Paz. This purchase will help her renovate her musical equipment as what she currently has is very worn to later offer her services. This method of work allows her to generate resources to support her family economically as she is single and has a child.

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer she replied that she likes the health services and the training offered by the institution.
