A loan helped to buy seeds and start banana farming.

Lucy's story

Lucy is a humble mother who wakes up every morning at 5 o’clock to work on her farm. She is fully dedicated to her farm work and thinks only of progressing. Lucy resides in the Nkubu area of Kenya which is a remote town with harsh living conditions because of the bad terrain in the region. She is happily married and, together with her husband, has a lovely family. Lucy’s primary sources of income are milk and some personal business she engages in to make ends meet. Lucy has managed to take care of her family with her income from selling different varieties of food crops. The Nkubu area has conditions that favor crop farming.

Lucy has always wanted to start banana farming but the lack of capital has prevented her. She is seeking a loan to buy seeds and start banana farming. With this loan she will be able to harvest more bananas and hence satisfy the ready market in her region. Demand for bananas in the Nkubu area is high but the supply is low. So, through this loan, Lucy is going to comfortably meet the demand.

Her increased income will allow Lucy to provide a secure future for her school-going children by paying their tuition fees. She believes that education is the gateway to success. Her vision is to be a leading supplier of bananas in major hotels and households in her region. Help her out!
