Ay's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase organic fertilizers and organic pesticides for her rice farming business and to buy fishing net for her fishing business.

Ay's Group's story

Ay, who is 39 years old and a married mother, resides with three children in Kampong Cham province. She has a child in school who needs her to support studying.

Ay has been growing rice as the main source of family income for 21 years, and she is also fishing to supplement income. Her rice crop was heavily threatened by pests and drought; therefore, she cannot manage to earn good income.

Ay now leads a group of six members to take out a new loan, which will be the second cycle for her, with VisionFund (Kiva’s partner). The past loan was fully paid back, and it was helpful to her, as it enabled her to better support to her family and keep her children in school.

Ay, who is the group leader, will use her entire loan portion to purchase organic fertilizers and organic pesticides for her rice farming business and to buy fishing net for her fishing business. She hopes her rice crop will grow healthily and produce good outputs so as to improve her standard of living.
