Litoral Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy second-hand shoes at wholesale to offer greater variety and improve her working capital.

Litoral Group's story

Ruth is a young woman of twenty-four, she lives with her partner and has a seven-year-old son. Her business is selling second-hand shoes.

She is a good mother, enterprising, independent, consistent, friendly, responsible and very hard-working. She conducts her business in the southern part of the city, with lush vegetation and large areas of jungle and meadows, of which only a third cover a mountainous region and the rest extends over the Amazon plains. The climate is subtropical, with temperatures of around 21 - 35 degrees celsius.

Ruth has a dark complexion, brown eyes and long black straight hair tied back. She is short with a robust physique. She speaks her mother tongue of Guarani with her family and she speaks Spanish culturally and for business. (She is in the center, wearing a black sweater and pink slacks.)

She shares her life with her partner who works in construction and with her son who studies in school. They live in a rented room made of wood with a corrugated iron roof and brick floor. They have drinking water, electricity, and a sewer system.

Her desire to succeed led her to form a communal bank to ask for a loan to improve their businesses such as peanut sales, clay crafts, weaving straw hats, production of weavings, bakery, flower market, butcher shop, and key workshop.

Her business is the sale of second-hand shoes. Her work begins with the classification of shoes by gender and age, followed by cleaning, and then finally she shows the product. “My merchandise comes mainly from the European market and are sold entirely to my clients who are all ages,” she comments.

The advantage of her business is that she always has customers. The disadvantage is the lack of capital to buy wholesale second-hand shoes to supply her seasonal customers.

Her dream is to open a store stocked with shoes. She wants to buy second-hand shoes wholesale in order to offer a greater variety and to satisfy her customers.

This is the first cycle of loans with the institution in the one year that she has been dedicated to this activity.
