Virgen Copacabana - Belempata Group's story

The members are part of the communal bank “Virgen Copacabana – Belempata.” This bank is located in the district of Ocobamba, pertaining to the province of La Convención, in the department of Cusco. Luisa is 52 years old, is married, and has three children. She works in her business of growing fruit. She is an entrepreneurial woman and a fighter. She has land where she grows plantains, coffee, mandarin oranges, and oranges. She works from 6:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Through this small business, she wants to bring her children forward. She has had this business for a number of years and it is going well. Her dream is to expand her farmland. She is asking for a loan to buy seeds and fertilizers. The other members work in the animal sales business, in the agriculture business, in a grocery store and in food sales. The member is thankful for all who have been a part of this dream through these means. She is committed to paying her quotas in the established repayment schedule.
