Celsa is a 56 year old, single, has 6 children, all adults, and her business is selling traditional food. She is enterprising, independent, constant, active, patient, responsible and hardworking. Her business is located in the Equipetrillo neighborhood located 20 kilometers from the city. The area is known for its rich craftsmanship of clay products and produces mainly vases, flower pots and other items that are for useful for the home. The area enjoys a warm subtropical climate with a temperature that varies during the day between 21-35 degrees celsius.

Celsa is of dark complexion, brown eyes, black hair with blond highlights; she is short and of robust physique. Her first language, Guarani, is spoken in the home and she generally speaks Spanish in the community and while doing business. In the photo she is sitting in the center, dressed in black. She lives with her younger son who works; they live in a house owned by the family. It is built of wood and has a tin roof, cement floor, well water extracted by an electric pump power but no sewerage.

Her desire to suecceed drove her to form a communal bank. The businesses the members have include selling fruit, selling crafts, selling natural medicine, selling secondhand clothes, selling cosmetics by catalog, weaving, fabric painting, baking traditional breads and selling dairy products. The seek a loan to improve each of their businesses.

Celsa's business is selling traditional food such as: cracklings (fried pork skin), stuffed cogote (creole chicken neck, stuffed potato and banana), majao (ground jerky, boiled rice and bananas), peanut soup (soup made with peanuts), and others. She works Monday to Friday during office hours and on weekends she sets up a booth to sell food throughout the day at markets. "My business is new, however I have been cooking most of my life, and that is why I have many demanding customers who enjoy good food ... " she says. The advantage of her business is she has sales 7 days a week; the disadvantage is the lack of capital to purchase a display counter to keep food warm.

Her dream is to improve her business to have more customers, she wants to purchase of a display counter for hot foods. This is the 1 cycle of loans with this institution in the one year she has had this business. It is for these reasons that Celsa is applying for a loan for the purchase of a display counter for hot food to attract more customers.
