Manuel Ardulfo's story
Manuel Ardulfo is a 47-year-old farmer who works growing coffee under various certifications such as fair trade and organic. Ardulfo has more than 27 years of experience in coffee production and 7 years working with coffee certified through COCAFCAL, of which he is a member. Ardulfo is married to Deisy Marina with whom he has three children, ages 15, 12, and 7. Ardulfo and Deisy work daily to be able to get their children ahead. They dream of their children being able to access a quality education and, above all, that they can have the quality of life they deserve. Currently, Ardulfo wants to convert his coffee crop to organic production. Organic products are a new concept in the region and they assure a good market for the coffee. Ardulfo wants to take advantage of his coffee plants being in terrible condition to replace them and start the seal with a completely new planting. Ardulfo asks for a loan to convert his parcel of coffee to organic production which will allow him to have more earnings for his coffee, in addition to an assured market for his harvest. With the earnings from his coffee, he hopes to improve his family's living conditions. A loan will help Ardulfo to have more earnings for his coffee in addition to giving him the option of offering his children more opportunities.
