A loan helped to buy fertilizer, organic pesticide and pay for plowing fees to support her rice farm.

Choub's Group's story

A mother of three dependent children living in Battambang province, Choub is 42 years old. She earns income to support her living conditions via rice cropping on a one hectare area and selling grocery items to get more income. Because of drought, her rice is not growing well. She has been involved this business for 15 years and she can save on a daily basis about 35,400 KHR. This is her seventh cycle with VisionFund (Kiva’s partner) and she has fully repaid her past loans completely. With her past loan, she got more income to improve her family’s living standards and to keep her children in school as well. In a group of two, she is a group leader. She will spend her entire loan portion to buy fertilizer, organic pesticide and pay for plowing fees to support her rice farm. She hopes that her rice farm can give her more yield and provide a better income than before.
