Phalla's Group's story
Phalla, 31, is a farmer who lives in Keo Seima district of Mondulkiri province. She is also a married mother of three dependent children who are under age for school. She makes a living growing cassava as the main source of income. Meanwhile, she also grows paddy rice to earn supplemental income for her family. This industrious mother has been involved in her business for ages. Now, she cannot manage to earn good income for her cassava has been destroying by pests. Therefore, Phalla decides to apply for a loan of 1,400,000KHR to support her family’s business, and this is the first time of her with VisionFund (Kiva’s partner). As the leader of four members group, Phalla will use her loan portion to buy cassava seeds and organic fertilizers to increase the productivity of crop. She hopes to earn more income to improve her living condition much better than before.
