A loan helped to purchase working materials for metalworking to work and not lose customers.

Leonora's story

Leonora is a 39-year-old woman, she lives with her partner, they have one 8-year-old son and one 5-year-old daughter and her business is a metalworking shop. She is a good mother, enterprising, independent, optimistic, generous, loving, responsible and very hard-working. Her business is located in the San Luis II zone, and area characterized by joining various zones through the public transportation network. From this place, one can get transportation to distant areas of the city. It has a cold and dry climate with a temperature that varies during the day between 0-12 degrees centigrade. Leonora has dark skin, dark eyes, long black hair that she wears braided, is short, has a robust physique, dresses traditionally (hat, shawl and pollera [traditional Andean skirt]), and her native language is Aymará which she speaks with her family and she speaks Spanish due to the general culture and for the business she does. She shares her life with her partner who works in the same business. They live in a room they own, built of brick and cement with a roof of metal sheeting and a wooden floor which has running water, electricity, domestic gas, and sewer services. Her business is metalworking. She has a shop where she makes doors, window latches, gates, grills, etc. and all sorts of metal structures. She does this work in a room fitted as a shop, from Monday to Saturday all year round. "We work all week long and our materials run out regularly, and we need to purchase them in larger quantity..." she says. The advantage of her business is that it has a list of regular customers, the disadvantage is the lack of capital to purchase different types of metal. Her dream is to build a house. She wants to purchase different types of metal in bulk to have constant working material. This is her first loan cycle with the institution in the 5 years that she has worked in this business. For these reasons, Leonora asks for a loan to purchase working materials for metalworking to work and not lose customers.
