Chap's Group's story
Mrs. Chap, born in 1976, is an ethnic Thai woman. She has been participating in the program of M7-MFI’s forerunner since January, 2000. She currently lives with her husband’s parents, her husband and her two sons in Mai Son district, Son La province. Her family’s main occupation is cultivation, and the annual income from harvesting 1.4 hectares of coffee is about VND 80 to 85 million. However, the income after deducting costs is just enough to cover the living expenses of the family and to save a small amount. Her eldest son is studying at a university. She wants a loan to pay for her son education’s fees and to invest more in his education, but she does not have enough money. Therefore, she wants to borrow for this purpose. She hopes that that the loan will help her son have better conditions for studying, and when he graduates from university, that he will have a stable, good job.
