Eber Naun's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped buy organic manure, organic pesticides and insecticides, and organic coffee plants to convert his coffee crops into organic ones.

Eber Naun's story

Nahum is a 30-year old farmer who has been producing value-added coffee for 10 years -- "value added" means with certifications, like fair trade and bird-friendly, and special processing methods.

Nahum is married and has a 2-year-old daughter. He dreams of providing everything necessary to his family so his family can live with dignity; he also hopes that his daughter can have an education that will offer her better opportunities in life.

Producing coffee with certification is a novelty in the coffee business as it provides a more sustainable crop; it also helps generate better coffee prices and makes the crop environmentally friendly, which is why Nahum wants to certify his coffee crops with organic certification. Organic production guarantees a special market for coffee and it also allows him to collaborate with helping to take care of the rich biodiversity in the area.

At this moment, Nahum is requesting a loan to accomplish his certification work. With the income he generates from his organic coffee sold in special markets via COCAFCAL, of which he is an associate, he hopes to improve his family's quality of life and save up for his daughter's education.
