Fortunate's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to purchase more groceries to resell.

Fortunate's story

Fortunate is 28 years old and married with two children. She resides in the Chiredzi District of Zimbabwe. Fortunate is both a volunteer and a businesswoman. She is a Camfed Learner Guide teaching life skills education at a local school and also works at a grocery shop.

Fortunate rents a store and sells products such as sugar, flour, rice, salt, cooking oil, and drinks. She has been running this business for the past two years and successfully paid back her first Kiva loan earlier this year. She would now like to take a larger loan, which she will use to increase her inventory. "The loan I received before helped me a lot. I am now presentable in the society. Also I am now able to buy groceries for my family, my husband adores me and I have gained respect in the community." Fortunate will use her profits to pay fees for her husband and niece who are studying math and English, and to support her family. Fortunate intends to grow her business and open her own store one day.
