Ma Ngay Ka Lay Village Group-1's story
This loan will help a total of 32 group members. Tin, the featured borrower, is 56 years old, married and supports a family of seven (five children). Two of the children help in the fields to support the family income. Like many farmers in this area, savings are low before the harvest season. This loan will help him purchase the necessary farming inputs, such as fertilizers and gas for farming machines. These inputs are vital for his crop farming to increase yield. He also aims to purchase more land for two of his unmarried sons. For good deeds, Tin mostly donates at monasteries. Pictured above (from left to right) are Hla, Khin, Kyaw and Tin. The CBO leaders oversee the group of 32. The fund will help the group purchase farming essentials before harvest time. Ma Ngay Ka Lay Village mainly focuses on crop farming, as well as other seasonal plantation such as coconuts, betel leaves and banana trees, for additional income.
