Eve's story

Eve is 55 years old and married with 4 children. She lives in a rural village on the island of Savaii in Samoa. She owns and operates a small store, selling items such as canned food, frozen goods, sugar, soft drinks, and snacks. She has been running her business for 3 years now. Eve became a microloan borrower with SPBD in 2008 and has successfully borrowed and repaid 8 loans. With her first loan of about US $250 Eve started a small pancake and ice cake business. Based on her successful history, Eve has become eligible for a small business loan. She wishes to use this loan to extend her store. In the past, Eve has used the profits from her business to help pay for her children's education. In the future, Eve hope to improve her business by investing in a gas oven to bake biscuits to sell in her store.
