Jeovani Ricardo's story
Jeovani is a coffee farmer, 45. He has 30 years' experience in the field of coffee production and each day he puts into practice new production techniques. Jeovani is married to Olga Maribel, with whom he has three children. His greatest dream is to be able to give his little ones the best education and quality of life possible. Jeovani wants to produce organic coffee, which is new in the region. It allows him to have better prices for the coffee he sells by means of the COCAFAL certification of coffee farms. Apart from giving better gains in price, it helps to have more abundant production and to protect the environment via good agricultural practices, and benefits that pests are practically eliminated. He will take advantage to replant them and start the planting certification from the beginning. Jeovani is applying for a loan to convert his farms to organic production, which will permit him to have better profits for the coffee and give better opportunities to his family. A loan will help Jeovani certify his coffee farm which will allow him to have better harvests, better prices for the coffee and, therefore, a better quality of life for his family.
