A loan helped to buy stocks of threads, fancy cloth, sequins, and pearls of various colors for her husband's embroidery enterprise.

Shaabana's Group's story

Shaabana is a 34-year-old married woman, living in the area of Lahore, Pakistan. Her husband has owned an enterprise of stitching and selling embroidered dresses in nearby towns for many years. He has been recruiting skilled persons to do embroidery work for daily wages; he also brings some material home for Shaabana because she helps him in embroidery work. He is very expert in his profession; he is especially famous for bridal dresses. People like his arts and appreciate his efforts. Shaabana's husband wants to meet the demand for his bridal dresses. That is why he wants to buy stocks of threads, fancy cloth, sequins, and pearls of various colors in advance. He requires some capital to buy the desired inventories but does not have sufficient cash on hand. Therefore, Shaabana humbly requested a loan from BRAC Pakistan. With this loan, her husband will be able to buy stocks of threads, fancy cloth, sequins, and pearls of various colors. Shaabana is very glad and thankful to BRAC Pakistan.
