Specioza's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to purchase good quality seeds, herbicides and modern tools in order to increase the group's productivity.
Specioza's Group's story
Specioza is a small-holder farmer growing maize, cassava, sweet potatoes, ground nuts and beans. She also rears goats, pigs and chicken. Specioza earns her income through the sale of farm products and hand-craft mats she makes. Specioza mobilized and leads a group of four fellow member farmers who actively participate in trainings organized by YICE on farming as business. She and the group recognized that their farm output has always been limited by poor quality seeds, resistant weeds and the use of poor tools that damage crops. They now ask for a small loan to purchase good quality seeds, herbicides and modern tools in order to increase their productivity. Specioza’s dream is to become a model farmer and inspire other community members to put much more emphasis on farming as a source of income and food.
