Eva Zulma's story

Eva is a 33 year-old woman. She is single and has a 12 year-old son. Her business is selling food. She is a good mother, an entrepreneur, and an understanding, patient, responsible and hardworking person. She carries out her business in the “12 de Marzo” area, considered one of the pioneers of the city. This area has nearly half a million trade unions and is characterized by taking in almost all the streets and avenues. The weather is cold and dry with temperatures during the day that vary between 0-12 degrees Celsius. Eva has a dark complexion, brown eyes, and long black hair which she wears braided. She is short and has a medium physique. Eva speaks her native Aymara language with her family and speaks Spanish with the general public and for her business. She lives with her parents who work and her son who attends school in the morning so he can help with her business in the afternoon. They live in their own adobe home that has a tin roof and wooden floors. Their home has water, electricity, gas, and a sewer. Eva’s business is selling food. She is responsible for preparing lunch and dinner. The popular lunch consists of several courses served one after the other. The first course is an appetizer (a cold dish may be a half boiled egg with shredded carrots) or a traditional soup that can be of different types. The second course is the main course and is usually a piece of meat with vegetables and rice or noodles. The last course is dessert and consists of fruit, an orange or banana. "I started my business with the help of my former partner, after our separation I ran out of working capital ... " she says. The advantage of her business is that she counts on returning customers. The disadvantage is the lack of capital to buy cooking supplies and other supplies like soda, etc. Her dream is to buy supplies for her business so that it can run properly. She wants to buy kitchen supplies wholesale as well as vegetables, meat, oil, pasta, soft drinks, etc. so that she can continue with her business and pay for her child’s expenses. This is the first loan from this institution in the 10 years she has been in this business. For these reasons Eva is requesting a loan to buy kitchen supplies to continue her business and pay for her child’s expenses.
