Mbah Evodia's story
She is married with six children; one of her children is not yet fifteen years old. They live in a four bedroom apartment in Bamenda, Mezam Division of the North West Region of Cameroon. She faces many problems such as inadequate capital to operate her business, and the deaths of her mother, brother and husband. She has repaid three loans and will use this new loan to expand her restaurant business to buy ingredients used to fry “gateaux” such as sugar, flour, yeast, vegetable oil, beans, rice, sachet tomatoes, maize and fire wood. She holds a positive view of her business and believes that she can succeed because she has experience, regular customers, and she supplies food for birthdays and weddings. Her business provides the community with a regular supply of food at cheaper rates. With the profit from this loan, she will educate her children by providing them with all the necessities needed in school, she will care for her family, buy farm seedlings for her small garden in the compound, and also save some for future investments. She prefers GHAPE loans because of the low interest rate and convenient repayment intervals.
