Ndeye's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to purchase peanuts to make peanut butter.
Ndeye's Group's story
This group of six members is part of the 'banc villageois' that was created on November 16, 2009. It is composed of women from the same district who keep up good relationships with one another and who are active in commerce. NDEYE, who is at the right in the photo with her left hand raised, is 42 years old and a married mother of five children (3 girls and 2 boys). With this loan, she is going to purchase some shelled peanuts and process them to make oil and peanut butter. She goes to Kaolack and sometimes to the Diourbel market to purchase peanuts. She purchases each kilo for 400 francs CFA. After processing the peanuts, she resells the oil at 900 francs per liter, and the peanut butter, at 700 francs per kilo. Part of the profits gathered will enable her to save some money. The rest is for taking care of herself and also her family.
