Unity Group's story
This group of two members is called the Unity Group. Their average age is 40 years old and they have an average of two children at home. They both live in traditional extended families in Chorkor, one of the neighborhoods in Accra-Ghana. Both members are relatives and neighbors who work together, buying and selling such items as mobile phone accessories, noodles, assorted soap and eggs. After successfully repaying all their previous loans, this is the fifth group loan for the members of the unity Group. Mustapha is a member of this group and intends to use his loan funds to buy mobile phone accessories. He purchases his supplies at the main market and sells to diverse clients, who pay in cash. Mustapha hopes to make a good monthly profit, which he will use to meet his family expenses related to health, food, clothing, and school fees. He will reinvest the remainder into his business.
