Pathias's story

Pathias is aged 35 and happily married with one wife and four children aged 12, 10, 6 and 2. Pathias is borrowing a loan of is 3,000,000 UGX from UGAFODE Microfinance Ltd (MDL). He is an agriculturalist who does cattle trade and is also a principled farmer who does coffee farming and a banana plantation. He works for 8 hours a day and 6 days a week, and he also has a side income of trade in cows. Pathias started the business in order to generate income for his family household. The loan purpose is to buy cows for trade, fertilizers, chemicals and mulches for his plantations. Most of his clients are people in the rural community. He started business in 1999. Pathias hopes to become the leading trader of cows in Kakanju, own large plantations of coffee and bananas, and produce more for sale in the area. He is always faced with the challenges of price fluctuations, banana bacterial wilt and high prices for agricultural inputs. He is an honest and hard working person.
