Las Kantutitas De Bella Vista Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy rice, potatoes, potato starch, and freeze-dried potatoes in bulk.

Las Kantutitas De Bella Vista Group's story

The “Las Kantutitas de Bella Vista” loan group is beginning its second loan cycle as part of the Panamericana regional office of Pro Mujer. The group has nine members and is run by a board of directors that has María as president. The members have different businesses, including selling meals, selling coca leaves, selling potatoes and freeze-dried potatoes, selling shoes, selling ice creams, and selling fruits. This loan will benefit small businesses in María’s group. María herself tells us that she joined Pro Mujer one year ago, following an invitation from one of the organisation’s advisors. María currently has a business selling meals; she says that she learned this trade from her mother one year ago. This loan will be used to increase assets, by buying rice, potatoes, potato starch, and freeze-dried potatoes in bulk from sellers in the city of El Alto. These goods will later be used to prepare and sell meals. This work allows María to earn an income to support her family. María has a partner and two children. When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, María says that she likes the health education offered by the organisation.
