A loan helped to buy cloth wholesale.

Amazonas Group's story

The communal bank "AMAZONAS" will begin its 28th cycle in Pro Mujer as part of the Focal Center of Collpani. It is composed of nine members and is directed by governing board of which Gladys is the president. The businesses that the members of the communal bank engage in are various among which are costume sales, quilt sales, furniture sales, vegetable sales, school supply sales, cloak sales, and carpet sales. The loan they will take out will benefit small microenterprises about which Gladys indicates that twelve years ago she joined Pro Mujer coming in at the invitation of her sister who is a customer of the institution. Nowadays, she has a costume making and sales business for women. She wants it known that she learned this business working with her sister for several years. With the little savings she had, she decided to start this business. The loan she will now take out is to augment her capital (buy cloth wholesale) which she will get from the wholesale vendors in the city of La Paz and she will then market it in her sales location in the city of El Alto. This kind of work allows her to generate resources in order to support her family economically since she is single and has a son. When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she responds that she likes the training and the health area that the institution offers.
