Korotoumou's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to allow her to buy a packet of OPV seeds and fertiliser for growing peanuts.

Korotoumou's Group's story

Korotoumou, who is wearing the black boubou in the picture, is a member of a group of 11 farmers registered with myAgro. She lives and works in the village of Bancoumana in the southwest of Bamako, Mali. Korotoumou is 52 years old and the mother of ten children, nine of them currently attend school. Korotoumou was encouraged to take part in this activity as farming is a family tradition and has been the main source of income and food for the home. Furthermore, she loves farming and has been doing so for 30 years. Korotoumoou grows peanuts on her plot but faces farming difficulties like a lack of farming materials and quality fertiliser. She is starting her first year with myAgro and registered herself to obtain quality seeds and farming training and techniques, as well as access to the market. This year Korotoumou is making payments to buy a packet of myAgro OPV seeds and fertiliser to increase production on her 0.0625 hectare plot. It is now 20 years that she has been growing quality peanuts. She explains that the peanuts are eaten by the family and used as a sauce base in cooking and also used for their commercial value as they can be sold in the market. She plans to increase her production and her profit to buy farming materials. In the end, Korotoumou hopes to build a house for the family and ensure that they can provide food for themselves.
