Lusik's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay for potato seeds and cover cultivation costs so the farm is developed and Lusik is able to earn income for her family.

Lusik's story

Lusik lives in Meghrashen village of Shirak region with her big and happy family. Her husband is migrant worker who left his country to search for a well paid job and sustain his family. Lusik is a mother of two sons; one of them is married and has a 2-year-old son. Lusik herself is involved in agribusiness. She runs her own farm where she keeps livestock of cows, calves, sheep and hens. Lusik also cultivates wheat, barley and potatoes and as final produce, sells it in the local market. She applied for this loan to ask lenders to support her farming business. She needs to purchase potato seeds and cover cultivation costs so the farm is developed and Lusik is able to earn income for her family. Because the region where Lusik's village is located is considered poor, and the unemployment rate there is very high, people face numerous difficulties in developing their businesses. Lusik's loan has been approved within the joint initiative between SEF and Kiva, which provides loans to the under-served population of the Shirak region to help them to access the market and earn a living.
