Willma Nelly's story
Wilma is a 55 years old woman, married and has 3 adult children. In her business she manufactures shoes. She is an entrepreneur, strong, determined, reliable, dedicated, organized, responsible and a hard worker. She carries her business in the “Tembladerani” area. This area is known because the soccer stadium of a popular team is located there. The climate is cold and dry with a temperature that varies between -1/16 C degrees. Wilma has a dark complexion, brown eyes, and long black hair that she braids. She is of short stature and has a medium build. She wears traditional clothes (skirt, shawl and hat). Her native language is Aymará, which she speaks at home, and she speaks Spanish because of the general culture and for her business. She lives with her husband who works in the same business. They live in their own home built of brick and cement, with a roof of corrugated metal sheets and wood floor. They have drinking water, electricity, gas and sewage. Her business is making traditional shoes and boots used in various folk dances, such as, “caporales”, “morenada” and “diablada”, among others. “I started working at a very young age because my family used to work in this business, now I work with my husband” she comments. The advantage of her business is that she has regular customers, the disadvantage is the lack of money to buy production materials, such as, leather, fabric, soles and others. Her dream is to hire people to help manufacture in wholesale, she wants to buy shoe production materials. This is her 2nd loan cycle with this institution in the 35 years that she has been working. For these reasons, Wilma requests a loan to buy shoe production materials, hire personnel and sell wholesale.
