Hysen's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to make some repairs to his family's poorly built home, which Hysen did not want to show in the photograph because he felt uncomfortable.

Hysen's story

Hysen and his family live in a very poorly built home to which they want to make some repairs. He chose to be photographed with his cows instead because he did not feel comfortable showing the condition of his house. Hysen is a married father of two who lives in a rural village with a large population where spinach pie, locally called “lakror,” is a traditional meal. He works in agriculture for a living and has three cows and about fifty sheep. He sells raw milk to a dairy farm located not far from his village and also sells baby animals to locals. To feed his animals, he plants plenty of fodder, lucerne (alfalfa), wheat, and corn. Hysen does not sell any agricultural products because he doesn’t plant much anyhow.
