Zoila Esperanza's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped invest in galvanized steel sheets, wood, gravel, sand, cement, and a toilet to construct a bathroom and a water tank.

Zoila Esperanza's story

At 31 years of age, Zoila and her life's companion live in their own house with their three children, ages 11, 5, and 2. Zoila is an enterprising woman who has a small business selling 'pupusas' (a popular Salvadoran snack) and typical local dishes in her home, an activity that enables her to advance the family and take care of the chores that are entrusted to her. With the previous loan, Zoila constructed a wall. Now she is requesting a new loan because in her home and community there are many cases of illness related to hygiene, since they lack sanitary services, and they also lack adequate storage for water for daily use. Zoila doesn't have sufficient financial liquidity to invest in these improvements. For that reason she is requesting a loan through FUSAI to invest in galvanized sheeting, wood, gravel, sand, cement, and a toilet, in order to construct a sanitary system and a water storage tank for her home as soon as possible, thereby avoiding the contamination they currently live with.
