Nisondia Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy wax pagnes (traditional, wrap-around clothing) for resale.

Nisondia Group's story

The four members of the Nisondia Group are, on average, 37 years old and have four children. They are mostly married into polygamous families and all live in Kalaban Coro, a district of Bamako. The women know one another through living in the same neighbourhood and their business connections. They sell all types of pagnes (traditional, wrap-around clothing), incense, charcoal, powdered milk, etc. In order to improve their buying capacity, the group have decided to work with the field partner, Soro Yiriwaso. This will be their first loan. Mariam (sitting second from the right in the photo) sells best quality pagnes. She will use her loan to buy 25 wax pagnes from the main market. She will then sell them, mostly to women, in Bamako. Mariam expects to make an average monthly profit of 40,000 francs CFA which will be reinvested in her business and used to pay for the expenses of her household.
