Djekafo Group's story
Kadiatou is the person who is feeding the sheep. She comes from Mali, is 23 years old, married, and the mother of two children who are not yet old enough to attend school. Her children are 1 and 5 years old and live in the countryside. Kadiatou herself did not get an education. In order to earn her living she has been raising sheep for four years. Her husband sells spare parts and does market gardening, together with raising cattle to support the family. Kadiatou turned to the Microfinance Institution [RMCR] to support her sheep-raising business. The funds that she receives from RMCR are invested in her business raising sheep. She buys thin sheep in the local markets together with livestock feed, millet bran, salt, and medicines. After having fattened her sheep, she resells them in the same local markets. Her expected monthly profit is 18,000 F CFA. With the income she will buy other sheep for her future and that of the children, especially for their school fees. But often treating sick sheep is not easy. To improve her business she wants to have a lot of money.
