A loan helped to increase her merchandise with a new collection of clothes for this summer season.

Amal's story

Amal is a 47-year-old divorced mother of one child. Eleven years ago, she returned from Colombia to Lebanon with her little child after her divorce and decided to open a clothing shop to cover the needs and expenses of her child, in addition to her parent. Amal used to work in a clothing shop when she was in Colombia, which helped her a lot in managing her new shop and attracting customers. She worked hard to develop her shop, and with the help of her sister, she became able to import clothes from Turkey and Brazil. Today, Amal is acquiring a loan from Kiva's field partner Al Majmoua to develop her business more and increase her business merchandise with a new collection of clothes for the upcoming summer season. Amal hopes to expand her business more in the future through the wholesale business, to increase her income and improve her family's living conditions, for she is their only breadwinner.
