Mi Dios Es Mi Fortaleza Group's story
The Mi Dios es Mi Fortaleza communal bank group is made up of eight members, six women and two men, married with children in their responsibility. They are from Malpaisillo, a place that is located in the northern zone of the region. They are characterized as being hard-working, responsible and with desires to get ahead. They all have different work which is their means of survival and that of their families. Thanks to her desire to get ahead, the coordinator is Matilde and she has as her business the sale of crafts for the past ten years, in a specific place in the area. In addition, she sells traditional national productions to order to regular and occasional customers such as large vases, ash trays, clay decorations, kitchen decorations, handicrafts, traditional clothing, vases, piggy banks, etc. The objective of the loan is to invest in working capital and to stock her business so that in a not-so-distant future she can get more income. Mi Dios es Mi Fortaleza is grateful for the help that the Kiva investors offer to people of limited resources and poor countries such as Nicaragua to have a respectable means of work.
