Nyaung Ngu Village Group 1's story

The funds will help 22 members from Nyaung Ngu group 1 Village. Pictured above are the members from the group, named Kyaw, Dar, Than, Aung and Nyaung, and Kyaw (second from left) is the featured borrower. Kyaw is 68 years old and lives with a family of seven. Kyaw is a proud father because all of his four children are independent and working by themselves. He farms on his 15 acres of crop farm and the loan will help him purchase supplies for the farm such as fertilizers and gas for machines. Even though crop farming is tiring, U Kyaw thinks its beneficial as it can be sold and donated to monasteries as well. He got this crop farm as a heritage from his parents and has been in the business over 10 years.

Nyaung Ngu Village is located in Ayeyarwaddy River, Myanmar Delta Region and the village has over 1000 villagers. Most men focus on crop farming and as well plant flowers and betel leaves. Some households also raise livestock such as ducks and pigs for savings.

The five CBO members oversee a group of 22 village customers. The funds will help some group members to purchase fertilizers and gas for farming equipment and to pay an allowance to daily laborers.
