Djekafo Group's story

All married in monogamous households, the 5 members of the group Djèkafo are on average 30 years old and have around 3 children each. They all live in Lafiabougou, one of the neighborhoods of Bamako, and they know each other through neighborly ties. Their activities generate revenue at the market. The members of the group are involved in the small business of grains, clothes, onions, gas and soaps. With the goal of increasing their business funds, the members of the group decided to collaborate with Soro Yiriwaso and they are on their third cycle of solidarity loans. Mrs. Korotoumou (the first woman on the left of the photo) is a great seller of onions. She will use her loan to buy 4 sacks of onions in Bamako. She will resell them to a clientele primarily made up of women. Mrs. Korotoumou hopes to earn an average monthly profit of 25,000 FCFA which will be used to support the children in her household.
