Fanny Janeth's story
Fanny owns and runs a small food business from the back of her home, in the department of Cundinamarca. Her home is located near to a parish, whose parishioners keep her afloat. She has sold tamales, wafers, salads, and empanadas for ten years. To complement her family's income, Fanny works Monday to Friday in a school in another area of Cundinamarca to generate another income as a general service provider. Fanny makes her purchases in the municipal market plaza to get competitive prices and offer sales adjusted to her clients' capacities. She is now applying for a loan on Kiva, her first loan with the Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. With this loan, she will purchase bijao leaves, flour, corn, vegetables, rice, meat, etc. With these items she will increase her productivity and inventory of delicious meals. This will thus be a successful investment.
