Jeneris's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to purchase provisions and groceries like rice, meat, and soft drinks, among other items.
Jeneris is 38 years old. She has been selling provisions and groceries since five years ago, when, determined and armed with her savings upon arriving in Barranquilla, she found that there was a great demand for staple goods in her neighborhood; what the community required was not offered. It spurred her to start a business with which she could start to generate income, supporting her spouse in family sustenance, which up to that moment had been his sole responsibility. Today, her business has gradually grown, but her work capital is not sufficient to achieve her dreams. It is a major challenge to invest and earn more, because some of the goals she has are to offer better quality studies to her son and, finally, to have a home with an adjacent store. Currently, she is applying for a Kiva loan, which is the first financing she has requested from Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. With the loan, she will purchase provisions and groceries like rice, meat, and soft drinks, among other items that are frequently purchased. She does not want her inventory to be insufficient when the customers arrive to buy from her. With this investment, she plans to impact her sales and increase the inventory of items, making her Kiva loan a successful investment.
