Marianna's story

Marianna is from Tegh village of Syunik region, where she lives with her husband and two little kids. Marianna's husband is an army officer, so she has to take care of the farm and her kids alone. She currently keeps four cows, three calves and hens, and also cultivates wheat and some grass . Marianna perfectly manages to sustain the farm and gather income from it. She has now applied for this loan to purchase three cows and expand her livestock. As this is Marianna's first loan, it has been approved within the framework of the joint initiative between Kiva and SEF. The first-chance loan program provides loans to people who didn’t have access to credit products before because they have no credit history. Through this joint initiative, almost 500 borrowers like Marianna get a chance to have their first loans and develop their businesses.
