Eliaza Group's story

Plaxedes is a cross border trader who has started her business 10 years ago. She ventured into this business when only few people especially women, used to be in this trade. She stood the test of time in 2007 and 2008 the dark days of all forms of business activity, which is a sure testimony of being a serious business lady. As a cross border she buy clothes from South Africa and sell them in Zimbabwe. She acknowledged that she make profits of almost the same as her capital, as long as the business go well with no interruptions from some unforeseen eventualities. She also told her story painfully that sometimes the borders are unfriendly, as she sometimes encounter cruel revenue inspectors who can confiscate some of their stock. As a cross border she is happy to have passed through all the hectic moments so she is now able to survive even the jungle law ‘survival of the fittest’. Plaxedes together with her group members of Eliaza group, wants to thank Thrive for the training and support in uplifting all their effort as women in small businesses. As a cross border she has met all, she can act as a consultant to the upcoming cross borders.
