Maria Tulia's story

María is 57 years old and is a single mother of three children. She lives with two of her children and one grandchild. She lives in a community in the Municipio de Choloma Cortes. She has a grocery store business which she started 13 years ago. She sells soft drinks, water in bags, churros, biscuits, natural juices and cartons of juice. This is her ninth loan with ODEF and the amount she is asking for is 25,000 lempiras in order to stock up with soft drinks, juices, sweets, water, etc., in order to continue selling and giving her customers better service. Her aim is for her business to grow everyday and stay a family business from which she can make an income to cover her household needs.
