Lali's story

Lali is a 45-year-old married woman from village of Likhauri. She has four family members and all of them are unemployed. Lali is the only breadwinner; she works as a nurse at the emergency hospital and gets 450 GEL monthly. With the help of her family members, Lali works hard to develop an agricultural business. She takes care of cattle and milk-cows and cultivates a plot of land, where she harvests maize and nuts. The family sells agricultural produce at the local market and gets a little income. In order to improve her family's living conditions and find a stable source of income, Lali requested financial support. With the loan she will start her own business, purchase stock of food products and have money for working capital. She received the credit in the framework of joint initiative of Kiva and Credo - Startup Program that gives rural poor people the chance to start or re-start businesses. After starting the business, the family members will be involved in their own business and make it work on a profitable way, that will help them to cover everyday expenses. Lali and her family members rely on the goodwill of Kiva lenders and will be very thankful for the financial support.
