Evelina's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy a cow and five sheep for her farm.

Evelina's story

Evelina, 37, lives in the village of Zovaber in the Gegharkunik region of Albania. Her husband goes abroad for seasonal work, and she stays with her two sons and father-in-law, who is poor health, in their little house.

Evelina has become a skilled farmer, as all of the care of her farm is in her hands when her husband is gone. She has a cow, sheep and chickens, which enables her to make some money by selling some of the milk, a little meat and eggs.

Evelina says if not for her husband’s support from abroad, her small farm’s income would not be enough to cover her family’s everyday needs. Therefore, she is applying for a 500,000 AMD loan through Kiva’s partner Nor Horizon to buy another cow and five sheep. She wants to expand her farm and hopes that Kiva lenders will help her make this possible.
