Jose Bismark's story
Every morning is a new adventure for José. He enjoys each moment, starting with when he goes out at 4:00 am to care for his crops. This enterprising man, father of four children who love going to school and who, like him, are equally passionate about agriculture, and husband of a woman who supports him wholeheartedly, has taken pleasure in his working days for the last 25 years. The 42 year-old began working in the fields at a very young age, helping his uncle to grow beans, corn and wheat. Little by little farming became a source of income for José. Now that he is married and a father, this and his coffee fields have become his means of bringing food to the table. Now, his goals have expanded. He wants to continue to grow more beans in order to save and improve the condition of his home. This is why he is seeking a loan to buy agricultural supplies such as refreshers, urea, and pesticides, and to pay for labor. This will enable him to increase production and income and reach his goal of buying a cow and saving money to buy land.
