Bertha's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy stocks of shoes, clothes and handbags to resell.

Bertha's story

Bertha is a businesswoman who is married and has a boy and a girl who are still at school. She is in her mid 30s. She has supported her family by running a shop selling shoes, clothes and handbags since 2006. She starts working from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. per working day and is able to make a good profit each month. From Tujijenge Tanzania, this is her fourth credit request. She will use it to buy stock of shoes, clothes and handbags to resell. She invested the previous credits to her shop by restocking more bags, shoes, blouses and dresses, etc. She is really happy with Kiva's loan since her business has gained some extra miles. She used the profit to plow back into her business and covered school fees and household expenses. In the coming years, she would like to open another big shop of the same type. She has paid back successfully the previous loans. Bertha will hold herself accountable for being responsible to repay the loan.
