Ulemelero's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped set up his business by purchasing a trading kiosk, an Internet-enabled phone, a cashbox and a chair. He will also use the money as float to serve his customers.

Ulemelero's story

Ulemelero is 25 years old. He is married and has a two-year-old daughter. He is the last born in a family of five. Ulemelero is requesting a loan so that he can start running his own Zoona mobile money transfer business in Ntchisi, a district in the Central Region of Malawi.

Ulemelero completed his high school and enrolled in college to obtain a certificate in electrical engineering. He then worked as a casual worker at a construction company in Blantyre. He has been out of employment and struggles to provide for his family. He says the main challenge that he faces right now is that he does not have an income and is dependent on his father for help. He plans to grow his business quickly by handing out flyers to people in his community as soon as he opens the business. Ulemelero is happy to start running his own business. His business will provide financial services to unbanked people in his community. He will set up his kiosk at a supermarket and people will go to him to send and receive money. Ulemelero will get a profit every time a customer does a transaction from his kiosk. With the profits, he will be able to provide basic needs for his wife and daughter.

This loan will help Ulemelero set up his business by purchasing a trading kiosk, an Internet enabled phone, a cashbox and a chair. He will also use the money as float to serve his customers.

Ulemelero’s dream is to grow his business and hopefully go back to school to get a bachelors degree in electrical engineering.
