Russel's story

Russel is 50 years old with four children; she is a single mother and a hardworking entrepreneur. Her spa was her bread and butter. It helped support her children's education and with daily expenses. Russel started as a massage therapist on call with only PhP 300-500 per day; nevertheless she dreamed of having her own spa someday. She got her opportunity when her brother, working abroad, gave her capital of PhP 150,000 which she used to rent a space, bought two beds and hired a massage therapist to help her with massage service. She worked hard to provide customers good service, and in time customers patronized her services and recommend her spa to their friends. Russe'sl Spa now has seven beds with seven massage therapists and is earning a net of PhP 20,000-30,000 weekly. Russel shared her blessing by supporting her nieces and nephews in their schooling, and supports her old relatives in their medicine maintenance expenses. Russel makes sure that her employees have employee benefits and supports them through formal training, if they want to apply abroad or to a more exclusive spa center. Today, with growing customers, Russel wanted to expand her spa and rent another space to be made into a spa massage center, but her lack of capital prevents her from doing so. Now Russel is requesting a loan amounting to PhP 100,000 to buy two massage beds, oils, curtains, towels and rental payment for the space for her new spa. These will help increase her income and provide more employment to her community. Russel wanted to expand her spa in the future so she can provide better future for her children, continue to support her relatives, and to help her community through employment.
