Mai's Group

Mai is 53 years old and lives with her husband and four children. For the past 30 years, Mai has been running a business of buying and selling recycled materials to earn an income to support her family. She is the leader of a loan group of four members who live in Ho Chi Minh City. In the picture she is standing on the right and wearing a white blazer. All of the group members are requesting loans to fund income-generating activities. Mai is requesting a loan to buy a greater quantity of waste materials to recycle and resell. She hopes this will enable her to better meet the needs of her customers and attract additional ones. She also hopes that through her loan she will be able to increase her income and save money for any future difficulties facing her family.
